Privacy Policy

We aim to keep only what a feature genuinely needs in order to work. In practice that covers the following.

• Your account: the nickname you pick, how you sign in (email or a sign-in provider), the age you confirm, and settings such as your language.
• Whatever you choose to add to your profile, perhaps a photo or a line of bio, together with your following list and your followers.
• Text you type on Emerald Chat: in matches, in live room chats and in direct messages.
• A simple log of calls, recording the time of each match or private call, its mode and its length.
• Coin balance, gifts, VIP status and the receipts our payment partner sends back. Full card numbers never reach us.
• Reports you send, reports that mention you and any moderation notes linked to them.
• Device and connection details such as browser, operating system, a rough region based on IP, and crash reports.

During a video or voice match, the stream flows live between you and the other person. We do not keep recordings of everyday calls. When somebody reports a session, moderators can examine what is attached to that report, such as captured frames or chat text, before judging it.

Emerald Chat can only use your camera or microphone once your browser has asked and you have said yes. Revoking it is a toggle in the browser’s site settings, available whenever you like, and text mode needs neither.

• Pairing you with other adults and carrying the video, voice and text between you.
• Translating a message into your language when you ask for it.
• Keeping your coins, purchases, VIP badge and preferences tied to your account across devices.
• Working through reports, excluding rule breakers and shielding members from people who mean them harm.
• Finding bugs, blocking fraud and learning which parts of the product get used.
• Answering you when you write to support.

A match sees what you put in front of them: nickname, age, country, level, language and whatever your camera shows. Profile details are visible to other signed-in members.

We work with outside companies for hosting, video delivery, translation, payments and analytics. They process data for those tasks on our instructions and nothing else. Your personal information is not for sale, and advertisers cannot rent it. We will disclose information when a court or the law requires it, or when it is the only way to prevent serious harm to a person.

Account and profile details stay for as long as the account is open. Message logs, match history and technical records are kept for a limited period and are then deleted or made anonymous. Payment and moderation records can be kept longer where accounting rules, disputes or legal obligations require it, and so that removed accounts cannot simply come back.

• Change or delete your profile photo, bio and nickname in settings.
• Turn camera or microphone access off in your browser whenever you like.
• Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold on you, or for it to be corrected.
• Ask us to close your account and erase your data by writing to [email protected] using the inbox your account is registered to.
• Say no to marketing email; each one carries an unsubscribe link.

Emerald Chat accepts adults only, and it is not designed to gather data about anyone under 18. An account found to be run by a minor is shut and its data wiped. Please tell us if you believe that has happened.

Whenever the policy is revised, the updated date above moves too, and a significant change gets a notice inside the product. For any privacy question, email [email protected].
