Emerald Chat / Community Guidelines

Community Guidelines
Emerald Chat works when a stranger can open their camera and not regret it. These rules cover every match, every private call, every live room and every message. They sit alongside the [Terms of Service](/policies/terms-of-service), and breaking them can cost you your account.
Keep it for adults
You must be 18 or older. Anyone who appears to be under 18 is removed, and anything that sexualises a minor is reported to the authorities with no exceptions and no appeal.
Stay dressed and keep it clean
- No nudity, no sexual acts and no sexually explicit content on camera, in live rooms or in messages.
- No pushing someone to undress or do anything on camera they have not offered to do.
- Violence, self-harm, weapons used to threaten, and illegal drug use do not belong on camera.
Treat the other person like a person
- No harassment, bullying, threats or insults, whether about someone’s appearance, accent, background or anything else.
- No slurs or hate aimed at anyone’s race, faith, gender, sexuality, disability, ethnicity or country.
- When somebody presses next, let them go. Do not chase them into direct messages or other places.
Protect privacy, including your own
- Do not record, screenshot or stream another member without their clear agreement, and never share such material.
- Do not post anybody else’s personal details: address, phone number, workplace or social accounts.
- Keep your own details to yourself as well. A first conversation is too early for addresses and surnames.
No scams, no selling
- Asking for money, gift cards, crypto or bank details is not allowed, and neither is offering them.
- No advertising, spam, links to outside sites or attempts to steer people to paid services elsewhere.
- Do not pretend to be another person, a moderator or Emerald Chat staff.
- Coin generators, modded clients and bots are banned; offers of them are always a scam.
Reporting
Flag buttons sit inside every call and every live room. Use one, say what went wrong, and get on with your evening. Reports go to moderators, who can see who filed them but keep that private from the reported account. Filing false reports again and again is itself a breach.
Consequences
Depending on how serious and how frequent a breach is, we may warn the account, limit features, suspend it for a while or remove it for good. Coins held by a removed account are not refunded. You can ask for a review by writing to [email protected]; the safety page explains how moderation works.
